At least, Qatar Airways business class tickets will be highly pricey; it will vary depending on the season and when you arrange for a ticket and your travel destination. However, to make a comparison, an average flight between Doha and Cape Town would be close to 4,000 USD in case you book it as a business. The upgrade package was only 450 USD/head, of what we were paying in economy.

It is difficult to make an adequate comparison of our flights since we paid for the entire trip from Bucharest to Doha to Cape Town simultaneously. I am not a mathematical girlie, and there I have been. (I have rounded some numbers off, just to keep it simple):

• Total Bucharest China - Doha - Cape Town: 660 USD per capita.
• Doha Cape Town was approximately 70 percent of the whole distance (10 of 14.5 hrs)
• 70% of $660 = $460
• $450 upgrade cost
• $460 + $450 = $910

So 910 USD compared to 4,000 USD. That is much less expensive than the initial ticket price!
